Description

California OnTrack in Los Angeles: Comprehensive Care California OnTrack in Los Angeles: Comprehensive Care

California OnTrack delivers an outpatient coordinated specialty care initiative targeted at supporting individuals with thought disorders. We recognize that evident symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions tend to capture the spotlight because of their visibility, whereas the more understated ones, including avolition, anhedonia, social isolation, and emotional difficulties like alogia and affective flattening, frequently serve as the primary hindrances to achieving a worthwhile life. Our initiative is structured to promote functional recovery and resilience, rather than solely alleviating the severity or longevity of positive symptoms. Our support model centers on helping clients restore a rewarding life full of purpose, fulfillment, and joy, while skillfully managing ongoing symptoms.

Mission

California OnTrack provides an outpatient coordinated specialty care initiative aimed at assisting those with thought disorders. We acknowledge that overt symptoms like hallucinations and delusions often receive the most focus due to their prominence, but the subtler issues, such as lack of motivation, inability to experience pleasure, withdrawal from social interactions, and emotional challenges like reduced speech and flattened affect, typically present the largest obstacles to a meaningful existence. Our initiative focuses on fostering functional recovery and resilience, extending beyond simply diminishing the frequency or intensity of prominent symptoms. Our support framework emphasizes enabling clients to rebuild a fulfilling life abundant in significance, direction, and satisfaction, while effectively addressing persistent symptoms.

Personal Statements

Transforming the Approach

California OnTrack offers an outpatient coordinated specialty care initiative dedicated to supporting people with thought disorders. We acknowledge that prominent symptoms like hallucinations and delusions often dominate attention due to their visibility, but the less conspicuous ones, such as avolition, anhedonia, social withdrawal, and emotional issues like alogia and affective flattening, typically pose the greatest challenges to living a fulfilling life. Our initiative is crafted to enhance functional recovery and build resilience, going beyond merely reducing the intensity or persistence of positive symptoms. Our support model is focused on aiding clients in reclaiming a life rich in meaning, direction, and enjoyment, while effectively handling existing symptoms.

Integrated Support

Our coordinated specialty care initiative is developed to offer a thorough strategy that makes recovery achievable and reduces barriers. Beyond medication oversight, our interdisciplinary team implements a range of interconnected methods for recovery and preventing relapse, including skill-building for independence, training in social interactions, cognitive enhancement therapy to boost emotional resilience and social awareness, processing of trauma, prevention of substance misuse (particularly cannabis), and methods to strengthen resilience through a broader array of positive encounters. All services are conducted in person, with the only exception being our telehealth-based multi-family therapy sessions to provide convenient assistance to family members. For those on clozapine, we have systems in place to streamline blood monitoring, delivering quick results for neutrophil and white blood cell counts to maintain consistent medication adherence.

Viewing Recovery as the Standard

If you are dealing with unforeseen shifts in your thoughts and perceptions, regardless of a formal diagnosis, you may be acutely aware of the daily distress and hardship involved. Likewise, if a loved one is struggling with hallucinations, delusions, or other cognitive impairments, you have likely witnessed the difficulties they encounter in nearly every area of their daily routine. We understand the anxiety and concern these issues can cause, and we appreciate how daunting it can be to begin the journey toward healing and care. For these and other reasons, our admissions staff works tirelessly and empathetically to make every part of the enrollment process instill optimism for what lies ahead.
