What to Expect

At Lynchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), we realize that change can be difficult, even when you are confident that the change will have a positive impact on your life. For this reason, we work to maintain a welcoming environment where adults feel supported and empowered. One of your first activities at our center will be to complete a thorough assessment, including a physical exam. Following this assessment, one of our doctors may prescribe one of the following medications: methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, or Vivitrol. The doctor will explain the benefits and potential side effects of the medication they prescribe, and they will answer any questions you have. During your initial visit, we may also schedule your first counseling sessions. While you are participating in MAT at our center, you may take part in individual and group counseling. Both types of sessions are led by experienced professionals. During individual sessions, you can address personal topics you may be hesitant about bringing up in a group setting. During groups, you can practice relapse prevention skills and discover the power of sharing support with other members of the recovery community.
